Solemn Declaration of Charles Paul Berkeley Esq. that Mary Cotton was the same person as Mary Joye Cotton, that Ann Joye was afterwards Lady Pocock. Also identifying Certificate of Mrs. Andersons Baptism and that Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Balls were her only children.

I Charles Paul Berkeley of Oundle in the County of Northampton Esquire do solemnly and sincerely declare that I am of the age of forty seven years or thereabouts and that I knew and was well acquainted with Mrs. Mary Joye Cotton (Wife of Robert Salisbury Cotton formerly of Parliament Street Westminster in the County of Middlesex Linen Draper deceased) the devisee for life under the will of Peter Joye formerly of the Inner Temple London Esquire dated the twelfth day of June One thousand and seven hundred and eighty one and called in such will Mary Cotton and that she was the same person as Mary Joy Cotton referred to in the certificate of Burial of Mary Joy Cotton at Bathampton in the County of Somerset on the second day of May One Thousand and eight hundred and thirty three And I further declare that Ann the Wife of the said Testator Peter Joye after his decease intermarried with Sir Isaac Pocock of Maidenhead in the County of Berks Knight and that she was the same person as is refered to in the Certificate of the Burial of Ann "Relict of Sir Isaac Pocock Knight" at Cookham in the County of Bucks on the fourteenth day of July One thousand eight hundred and eighteen And I further declare that I have known and been well acquainted with Emma Maria Anderson now of Great Birkhampstead in the County of Herts (Widow of George Henry Anderson late of Bathampton Villa in the County of Somerset Esquire) all my life and that she is he same person as is named in a Certificate of Baptism dated the first day of October One thousand seven hundred and ninety at the parish of Reigate in the County of Surrey as "Maria Emma Daughter of Robert Salisbury and Mary Joy Cotton" And I further declare that the said Emma Maria Anderson then Cotton, intermarried with and became the Wife of the said George Henry Anderson in the year One thousand eight hundred and eighteen and that there was issue of such Marriage two Children only namely Emma Anne now the Wife of Charles Thomas Wilson of Oundle aforesaid Solicitor who was born in the year One thousand and eight hundred and nineteen and Charlotte Elizabeth now the wife of William Henry Balls of Bushey near Walford in the County of Herts Gentleman who was born in the year One thousand eight hundred and twenty And I make this solemn Declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of an Act passed in the 6th year of the Reign of his late Majesty King William the 4th intituled an Act to repeal an Act of the present Session of Parliament intituled "An Act for the more effectual abolition of Oaths and Affirmations taken and made in various departments of the State and to substitute Declarations in lieu thereof and for the more entire suppression of voluntary and extra-judicial Oaths and Affidavits and to make other provisions for the abolition of Oaths"
